About Me
Olivia Huang is a 17-year-old junior from Westchester, New York, with a half Korean and half Chinese Taiwanese heritage. Growing up in a predominantly white town as an Asian American, she became aware of the limited representation of diverse racial and cultural perspectives in both social spaces and within the school curriculum. A pivotal moment for her was joining her school Affinity Club which sparked her interest in advocacy for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Since then, she has become an Affinity Club Leader, helping lead professional development workshops at her school and Manhattanville University, advocating successfully for the addition of an honors Eastern Perspectives English course at her school, as well as winning the Princeton Prize in Race Relations.

In addition to her school-based advocacy, Olivia is a dedicated Girl Scout Juliette working toward her Gold Award which focuses on teaching the community Chinese knotting techniques while educating them about the history and cultural significance behind them. She first learned these knots from her grandmother, and she also helps sell her grandmother’s handmade art pieces on Etsy.
