I had so much fun today at the Pelham Arts Center Community Art Day and was able to give out more than 100 dragonflies! Although this is my last official workshop before I submit my Girl Scout Gold Award, it is definitely not the end. I hope to keep holding these workshops in the future whenever I have the opportunity, for no reason other than the joy I find in doing them! Here are some photos from today:

For the second part of my day in Philadelphia, I held a workshop at the Free Library of Philadelphia. Fun fact: its the 16th-largest public library system in the US!

I spent the day in Philadelphia, bringing my workshop all around! For the first part of the day, I was fortunate to be brought in as a guest artist at the Asian Arts Initiative summer camp! Learn more about the Asian Arts Initiative here: https://asianartsinitiative.org/

In collaboration with Girl Scouts Heart-of-the-Hudson, we were able to hold a workshop for any Girl Scouts in the area at the Betty Tauber Girl Scout House in Scarsdale. It was a great day where Girl Scouts of all ages (and many siblings + parents!) could come from across the region and learn Chinese knotting!

I had the privilege of spending the past week at the Points of Lights Conference in Washington D.C. to present Threads of Connection through the National Youth Leadership Council! Throughout the week, I attended multiple workshops centered around volunteerism, community impact, and youth voice. I met so many inspiring, like-minded people who are doing incredible things!

I had so much fun with Troop 1627 and was honored to bring my workshop to them as part of their last meeting of the year!

It was such a joy to bring my workshop to Troop 1687! With K-Pop Demon Hunters, Zara Larsson, and Olivia Rodrigo playing in the background, we crafted beautiful dragonflies together - and even set them free into the air!

Throughout the past two months, I visited all six third grade classrooms in Hastings! Altogether, I reached around 120 students and helped make more than 200 dragonflies!

Our stand at the Ardsley AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Festival was a huge success! We gave out more than 200 dragonfly kits and got to teach so many people of all ages how to do Chinese knotting. Last Monday, I had the opportunity to hold workshops in six 3rd Grade Classrooms in Closeter, NJ, reaching nearly 120 students!

I had such a meaningful time at the Yonkers Public Library. One thing that stood out to me was the shared feeling that we wished we had learned more about our culture in school! I loved being able to share about my own culture and using that as a way to spark conversations about the traditions and stories of others!
